Nick Darvill

Senior Business Manager, Funding

Dr Nick Darvill is a Senior Business Manager in the Funding Team, part of the wider Partnerships team at LifeArc. Nick helps to manage funding programmes at LifeArc, including funding processes, provison of translational advice to applicants and awardees, and post-award management activities. He has expertise in the advanced therapy space.

As part of Rare Disease Translational Challenge, he co-manages the Gene Therapy Innovation Fund and is a LifeArc co-lead for helping to oversee the newotk of Innovation Hubs for Gene Therapies. He is responsible for managing other projects funded under the Rare Disease Translational Challenge, including projects funded by LifeArc’s Philanthropic Fund.

Nick has a master’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. He obtained a PhD in structural biology within the field of parasitology from Imperial College London. Nick left academia to work as an Analyst in LifeArc’s Opportunity Assessment Group and then as a Business Manager providing technology transfer services and managing a portfolio of translational funding projects. Prior to re-joining LifeArc as a Senior Business Manager, he worked at the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, a UK centre of excellence for the advancement of cell and gene therapies.
